#1: Tribute Concert in Honour of John Charles Bird  Sunday, September 23, 2007 at 7:00 pm  

  • Lydia Adams, Conductor
  • Celebrating the lifelong support of John Bird as a member of the Board of the Elmer Iseler Singers and the Festival Singers of Canada
  • Special Guest Artists:
    Canadian Brass
    and Peter Tiefenbach, organ
  • Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, 78 Clifton Road at St. Clair, Toronto (W. of Mt. Pleasant)


#2: Byzantine Festival Celebration  Saturday, October 13, 2007, 8:00 pm

  • Lydia Adams, Conductor
  • Mystical choral music by great composers, including Christos Hatzis, John Tavener and Jonathan Harvey.
  • In collaboration with Soundstreams Canada
  • Special Guest Artists: Patricia Rozario, soprano

#3: Handel’s Messiah  Friday, December 7, 2007, 8:00 pm

    Join the Elmer Iseler Singers for their well-loved traditional performance of Messiah.

#4: The Journey  Saturday, February 16, 2008, 8:00 pm

  • Lydia Adams, Conductor

  • World Premiere of “Pimooteewin–The Journey” by Melissa Hui, based on Cree mythology with text by Tomson Highway and choreography by Michael Greyeyes; plus shorter choral works from New Zealand and Australian composers.

#5: Choral Celebration  Friday, March 7, 2008, 8:00 pm

  • Lydia Adams, Conductor; Jon Washburn, Guest Conductor
  • Special Guest Artists: Vancouver Chamber Choir
  • Richness resounds as two of Canada’s great choral ensembles join together in repertoire for forty voices.
  • Repertoire includes music by Whitacre and Willan, with a World Premiere by Christos Hatzis
