Meet the Singers - Alto 

Alto Claudia Lemcke Claudia Lemcke studied Piano and Voice in her native Germany. Claudia has been a frequent soloist in Toronto and the GTA and has extensive choral and solo experience with several of Toronto's finest ensembles, such as Tafelmusik, the Grammy - nominated Elora Festival Singers, Choir 21 and Aradia. She is now joining the Elmer Iseler Singers for their 2015/2016 season. When she is not in Toronto,  Claudia can either be found in Montréal, singing with La Chapelle de Québec under Bernard Labadie, or in Germany with 'Vocalensemble Rastatt' under the baton of Holger Speck with whom she recorded frequently for Carus. Victoria Marshall Mezzo-soprano Victoria Marshall joined the Singers at the start of their 2017/2018 season. She has been hailed for her “rich and powerful voice,”and for her “performance with aplomb and humour,” (Pierre Meunier, La Liberté). Originally from Winnipeg, Victoria came to Toronto to study at U of T Opera with Wendy Nielsen. Her repertoire has expanded to include oratorio and contemporary music, and has appeared as a soloist in Messiah, Mass in B Minor, St. Matthew Passion, and St. John Passion. Ms. Marshall was honoured to premiere the role of Vashti in the sci-fi opera, The Machine Stops. Victoria is an alumna of the Canadian National Youth Choir, Tafelmusik Baroque Summer Institute, and Toronto Summer Music Academy. Laura McAlpine Winnipeg-born, Laura enthuses audiences with her musical interpretation and dramatic versatility with “mellifluous singing and flashes of wit” (Opera Canada) and an “impressive voice that jumps off the stage” (Paula Citron, Classical 96.3 FM). Laura’s repertoire spans from traditional opera and oratorio to contemporary music. Her concert work has been with Cambridge Symphony Orchestra, Arcady and Talisker Players. Laura also holds an Honours Bachelor of Arts, Music Specialist, Minor in German Studies degree from the University of Toronto. Lynn McMurray Lynn McMurray joined the Singers in Sep- ember 2017. She was raised in Cambridge, Ontario, where she started piano lessons at age 6, beginning a life-long pursuit in musicianship – as a choral singer, soloist and conductor. At the University of Toronto she completed both her Bachelor of Music in Music Education in Voice Studies and her Masters in Music Education, and has sung with the University of Toronto MacMillan Singers and the Bach Festival Singers. For over a decade Lynn has been an alto soloist at Fairlawn Avenue United Church. She was formerly Associate Conductor for the Bach Children’s Chorus, under conductor Linda Beaupré. Lynn is the private vocal coach and piano teacher at Crescent School.
