Toronto The grandeur of the dome paintings in St. Anne’s by Canada’s famed Group of Seven can only be matched by the extraordinary beauty of mystical choral music by great composers. This glorious choral concert features The Troparion of Kassiani by Christos Hatzis with the ethereal singing of soprano Patricia Rozario. The text is by Kassia, a ninth-century poet, composer and abbess, who was the first woman composer in history whose works survive. The program will also include The Great Canon of St. Andrew of Crete, one of John Tavener’s most powerful works, and Jonathan Harvey’s mysterious and haunting Come Holy Ghost.
