A challenging idea…a dream come true!
This year, Easter Sunday falls on - April 8 – and is celebrated on the same day by both Western and Eastern Christian Faiths. This is a rare occurrence. What better than to join forces! The great challenge of uniting the East and the West through music has been accomplished by conductors Lydia Adams, Halyna Kvitka Kondracki and Zimfira Poloz together with 94.1 FM CBC Radio Two Executive Producer Robert Cooper and Peter Tiefenbach – musical consultant and organist. The East (following the Julian calendar) is represented by Armenian, Greek, Russian and Ukrainian composers. The West (following the Gregorian calendar) is represented by Western composers who worked within the various Protestant and Catholic traditions.
This April 8, 2007 Easter Sunday Sunrise Pascha Celebration heralds to be a truly harmonious and glorious event! Come and join us!
